THAI MASSAGE
Thai massage is one of the world's oldest healing modalities, originating in India over 2500 years ago. As philosophies and traditions spread throughout Asia, it eventually found its way to Thailand. For centuries, it was only practiced by Buddhist monks as a practice for meditation. Thai massage is often referred to as "The lazy man's yoga", because the client lies down on the mat and does nothing except to relax and concentrate on their breathing.
It is unlike other massages in other ways also; the client is dressed in loose clothing, or maybe in something that you might take a yoga class in. In Thai Massage (Nuad Boran) the practitioner places the recipient in yoga postures while massaging along the body's energy ("Sen") lines and pressure points. This full body treatment relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, and promotes relaxation. This meditative practice is the physical application of "Metta" (loving kindness). I have to admit, I was a bit of a skeptic at first, but after taking a class in it, I was amazed at how great I felt during and after the session. It has been around for thousands of years, but has only recently gotten much more popular in the west, and for good reason! After a session of Thai massage, you will be surprised at the energy that you will feel streaming through your body, and with a totally different attitude to face the day! I also do Thai Massage, facials, and reflexology...
