KICKBOXING
In 1998, I became a USTU/WTF
Certified Black Belt, along with
my wife, and two of my
children (the first time in the
USA that 4 members of the
same family accomplished that
on the same day!).  We were
all very successful with
Taekwondo & Hapkido, as
students in sparring, forms,
and weapons, as well as
instructors.
After competing at national
level matches,  even winning
the prestigious International
Black Belt USA Open
Tournament (1st place in
sparring, weapons, and
forms), and also being named
the ETF National Competitor of
the Year, I decided to end my
competitive days and
concentrate on teaching
others.
Unfortunately, so many people
do not learn how to kick
properly, particularly in
kickboxing classes, and end
up injuring themselves, usually
their knees, and end up having
to give up working out
altogether.  Sometimes, the
instructor is unaware of how
to properly kick in order to
prevent injury- other times,
there are just too many people in the class, and the instructor does not have
the time to stop and make any corrections!  Also, I see many people who are
being instructed in boxing are being taught incorrectly, thereby also risking an
injury that can keep them out of circulation!  With my back ground in martial
arts, I teach correct form first and foremost!  Kickboxing, boxing, Muay Thai,
and many other arts have the same basic movements, and are a GREAT
workout, but only if done correctly!  Incorporated with other types of
workouts, kickboxing helps to keep all of them fun, interesting, and exciting
!
